An esteemed Islamic scholar from Pakistan, Pirzada Muhammad Raza Saqib Mustafai, is an international preacher of Islam. He widely travels all over the world to deliver lectures on the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, Sunnah, Seerah, and Islamic spirituality. He is known for his scholarly discourse, poised speech style, and inclination toward peace and harmony. He is the founding chairman of Idara-tul-Mustafa International, a platform for informal Islamic education, Jamia-tul-Mustafa Gujranwala, a university of Islamic and contemporary sciences, Al-Mustafa Islamic Centres, a worldwide network of the educational, missionary, and welfare services, and Al-Mustafwiya Girls Colleges. He is the son and spiritual caliph of the late Alhaj Khawaja Din Muhammad Mustafai, a well-regarded saint of the Naqshbandi Sufi order.

Pirzada Mohammad Raza Saqib Mustafai was born on March 16, 1972, in Mustafabad, a village on the outskirts of Gujranwala near Kamoke (in the province of the Punjab, Pakistan). He received his early education in the Holy Qur’an and the Arabic and Persian languages from his father. The latter was not only a well-regarded saint of the Naqshbandi Sufi order but also a recognized Islamic scholar. After completing his matriculation at a local school, he traveled to Gujranwala and other cities of Punjab to pursue higher studies in Islamic theology (Dars-e-Nizami). He was blessed enough to be taught by many extraordinary teachers. Among his teachers, we find the names of such dignified scholars as Shaikh-ul-Hadith Muhammad Habibullah Nqshbandi, Mufti Muhammad Nusratullah Mujaddidi, and Shaikh-ul-Hadith Hafiz Muhammad Alam Muhaddith Sialkoti.

He completed his Shahadah-tul-Alimiyah (Masters in Arabic and Islamic Studies) and Uloom-e-Sharqiyah (masters in Persian and Urdu) in 1993. After that, he started teaching translation and exegesis of the Holy Qur’an, hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, philosophy, and logic in Gujranwala. As a result, a vast number of students and scholars from Pakistan and abroad have quenched their thirst for knowledge from him.

In 1994, he received the spiritual caliphate of the Naqshbandi Sufi order and the permission to start tarbiah (spiritual training) of the murideen (spiritual disciples) from two great saints of the time: late Hazrat Khawaja Mian Muhammad Ji Mustafai and late Khawaja Din Muhammad Mustafai. As a result, millions of Muslims in all parts of the world are now part of the circle of his murideen.

The grand mosque of Lohnianwala (Gujranwala), Jamia Masjid Gulzar-e-Madina, and the madrassah of Hifz-ul-Qur’an were built-in 1995. In 1998, he laid the foundation of Jamia-tul-Mustafa Gujranwala, an Islamic and contemporary sciences university. To complement the formal educational endeavors of the university, Idara-tul-Mustafa International was inaugurated in 1998 to offer informal modes of Islamic education, training, and guidance. In 2006, Al-Mustafwiya Girls College Gujranwala started offering school, college, and university-level education to the girls. In hundreds of cities across the globe, Al-Mustafa Islamic Centers make a worldwide network of the branches of Idara-tul-Mustafa International. The network and the scope of its educational, missionary, and welfare services continue to expand as more and more centers are rapidly being established, and more and more Muslims are becoming attached to the movement day by day.

Pirzada Muhammad Raza Saqib Mustafai delivers Jumu'ah sermons at two places in Gujranwala: the Muhammadi Masjid in the Gujranwala cantonment area, and the Markaz-e-Mustafa in Lohniawala Gujranwala. He divides his time between the activities of Idara-tul-Mustafa International and Jamia-tul-Mustafa Gujranwala. He also has to travel widely across the world to deliver lectures and mentor his disciples.

May Allah protects him, he may live a long healthy life, and may Allah bestow on him great success in the noble cause he is pursuing. Amen!
